How long should I stay in the hospital?
You will stay in the hospital for a total of 4 to 5 days. This is feedback from our previous patients and the same results cannot be guaranteed or promised.
How does the hospital process work?
After you are admitted to the hospital, the nurse will draw blood from your arm for preoperative laboratory tests. Lung X-rays and EKGs are then used to assess the lung and heart rhythm. In the radiology department, an ultrasound scan of the abdomen is done to examine the liver, stomach, gallbladder, and pancreas.
With these results, you will be examined by internal medicine, cardiology, anesthetists, and nutritionists. If nothing stands in the way of the operation, the stomach is examined more closely by gastroscopy under general anesthesia.
If there are no serious problems with gastroscopy, surgical preparations are made and the patient is taken to the operating room.
How long does the operation take?
The average time for operations is between 2 and 3 hours. 2-2.5 hours for the gastric sleeve, 2.5-3 hours for the mini gastric bypass, 3 hours for the gastric bypass. Dr. Aynacı can only start the operation after 30 minutes because of the various procedures such as preparing surgical materials, positioning the patient, and performing anesthesia. The operation itself takes 1 to 1.5 hours. The patient takes about 30 minutes to wake up.
Will I feel pain after the operation?
In the days after the procedure, pain and discomfort occur. The severity of the pain varies from person to person. There is usually nothing that cannot be treated with pain medication. You are given 3 types of strong intravenous pain relievers. The pain will subside 4 hours after the surgery. If you continue to receive intravenous pain relievers, you will not be allowed to leave the hospital, but this almost never happens.

On the day after the operation, you can take a sip of water every 30 minutes in the morning.
When is the gastric leak test done?
Two days after the operation, methylene blue (a blue dye) is placed in 60cc of juice and a leak test is performed. 60cc of liquid should be drunk in 30 minutes. If there is no problem with the leak test, a 60 ml clear soup is provided. You are reminded that you should drink the soup in half an hour.
When does the diet program and discharge take place?
The diet program will be explained to you 2 days after the operation. Generally, on the 3rd day after surgery, drug treatment will be arranged and you will be discharged. Patients can fly back to their home country on the same day
Will I always feel hungry?

Dr. Aynacı gives you a diet list that meets the requirements of the German language. He will also tell you about nutrition during a brief consultation. Only if you want a successful result. It is important to remember that permanent weight loss and healthy living is a two-step process. The first part is surgery that causes significant weight loss. The second part consists of the diet and lifestyle changes that you will need to achieve the best weight loss and continue successfully for longer. Without cooperation, the operation only delivers an average result.
What will my diet plan be like after discharge?

It is important not to eat fast food after surgery. The focus is on eating healthy foods, avoiding fat and sugar so you can maintain your weight loss for the rest of your life.
Exactly how much weight will I lose?
How much weight you will lose is difficult to tell as it will vary from patient to patient and will depend on a number of factors such as:
• Your weight before the procedure
• Your ideal weight determined by BMI (Body Mass Index)
• Your ability to follow diet and exercise recommendations from healthcare professionals
You have a high chance of losing 70-80% of your excess weight, and in some cases even more, after surgery. Even if you ignore the doctor's advice, you will likely lose a lot of weight, but if you follow the diet and exercise program you will lose a lot more. If you don't follow your doctor's recommendations, you can also expose yourself to complications. In short, how much weight you will lose is up to you.
* This is feedback from our previous patients and such results cannot be guaranteed or promised.
Expected changes in body weight;
The first 6 months are the most weight loss periods. This period is called the "honeymoon period". It is expected that 20% of the excess weight will be lost in the first month after surgery, approximately 10% in the second month, and 5-10% every month after the 3rd month.
This expected weight loss is directly related to your program and your metabolic rate. Don't worry if your weight loss is different from the rates we have given. Losing healthy weight is the most important thing.
For example, a patient with an ideal weight of 75 and 125 kg (according to the body mass index) is expected to lose an average of 10-12 kg in the first month, 5-7 kg in the second month and 3-5 kg in the third month. You will continue to actively lose weight for the first 12 months, although there may be delays, depending on your metabolic rate and how you are used to your new lifestyle.
Although you should have reached your ideal weight by the 24th month, serious weight gain is not expected as long as the dietary rules are followed and supported by exercise.
Are there any failures related to obesity surgery results?
In most cases, this type of operation is very successful. This allows the patient to lose weight and maintain a healthy new daily life. In some cases when it does not, it is almost always the case that the patient is following the Dr. does not comply after the operation. Therefore, it is not a surgical failure, but a failure to follow the doctor's recommendations.
When should I start exercising?
It would be advisable to start physical activity slowly.
As soon as you get to your house, you will be asked to get up and for the first week you should take fairly long walks (20-30 minutes) twice a day. You will also be given home exercises.
From the 2nd week onwards, you should start a 45-minute walk in the morning and evening.
You can start jogging in the 1st month.
It is important to start Pilates and Zumba in the 2nd month to get your body in shape.
In the 3rd month you can start fitness to keep your body toned and prevent sagging of the skin. You shouldn't be working with heavy weights.
You shouldn't carry more than 7 kg or do any abdominal exercises for 6 weeks.

Will I have a lot of scars?
A laparoscopic operation leaves a few small scars, each 2 cm. Over time, they will fade and be barely noticeable. Those who have difficulty healing scars should apply Contractubex cream thinly three times a day for 3-6 months after the wounds have healed.
Will I have hair loss?
Hair loss can occur after obesity surgery. The severity of hair loss varies from person to person. This hair loss is related to the decrease in iron, vitamin B12 and zinc levels. In almost all cases, when these vitamins are back in the normal range, the hair will begin to grow again in the first year and get its old shape.
Pregnancy and Sexuality
There are no problems if you resume your sex life after 15 days.
After the operation, fertility and the quality of sex life increase significantly due to the weight loss. The reasons for the positive effects are the healing, mobility, hormonal balance and the increase in motivation after the operation.
Remember that the baby's health depends on the parent's health. It is good for you and your baby's health to wait 18 months for a pregnancy after surgery.
Sleeping Position
You should not lie on your stomach for 15 days after the operation. It is recommended to lie on your back and on your side.
